This has become my go-to bag when I don't want or need to carry lots of stuff with me. It is perfect for a night at a rock concert or for a casual hike. It holds the essentials (wallet, cell phone, mints, lip balm...) and a bit more, which in my case is usually a compact digital camera and a set of spare batteries.
The quality is great, as is the norm with Ellington bags. As a matter of fact I was very pleasantly surprised when I received it because I usually prefer all-leather bags. It is well made and comes in a variety of fun colors (I have it in the olive/orange combo). The nubuck leather flap is very nice and gives this bag a touch of class despite its otherwise sporty exterior...Note: Despite the bag just closing with this flap, I still feel that my things are reasonably secure in it.
My favorite features are the leather flap with the contrast stitching (for looks :-)), the comfortable canvas strap that can be adjusted so that one can wear it cross-body, and lastly, the large interior slip pocket - closable with a snap closure - which I use for my camera to keep it protected from the rest of the stuff in my bag. This way, I don't have to bring a separate and bulky camera bag.
Very useful as well: The back zip pocket for keys or anything I want to keep especially secure.
The only minor complaint I have is that my large, rectangular every-day wallet does not fit in this bag. So whenever I use it, I move my cards, etc. to a smaller wallet. Then again - bags like these are all about not carrying too much so maybe it's a good thing.
I can recommend this purse to anyone who enjoys a splash of color and good quality bags.
